The Impact of the Class of 2029

The Greenwave program is entering the season with an exciting infusion of young talent, potentially featuring six freshmen on the varsity roster. Each member of this group brings a distinct skill set and energy that will play a significant role in shaping the team’s success. The Class of 2029 includes Draveon Thomas, Maison Rutledge-Seay, Skyler Crenshaw, Ean Thomas, Shyderrious Johnson, and Javien Gaither.

Draveon Thomas, a 6’4” wing, is an explosive athlete known for his ability to finish above the rim. Beyond his highlight-reel dunks, Draveon contributes consistently on the glass and as a shot blocker. Over the offseason, he has also made notable strides in his perimeter shooting.

Maison Rutledge-Seay, standing at 6’3”, is another versatile wing who makes a strong impact on both ends of the floor. Maison is an excellent shot blocker and brings relentless defensive effort each game. Offensively, he has developed a reliable mid-range jumper and improved his finishing ability in the paint.

Skyler Crenshaw, a 6’2” playmaker, is one of the most versatile players in the freshman class. With the ability to play multiple positions, Skyler combines strong ball-handling skills, high basketball IQ, and outstanding court vision. His size and defensive versatility make him a matchup problem for opponents, while his consistency in the mid-range game adds an offensive edge.

Shyderrious Johnson, a 6’0” guard, uses his length and wingspan to disrupt opposing offenses. Defensively, he is a tough challenge for any matchup, and on offense, he can score efficiently at all three levels, making him a complete two-way player.

Ean Thomas, a 5’11” guard, stands out as one of the premier offensive players in his class. He has a smooth perimeter game and excels at attacking the basket. Ean continues to grow defensively and adds a dynamic scoring threat to the Greenwave lineup.

Javien Gaither, a 5’7” guard, had one of the most impressive offseasons among the freshmen. Leading the team in several categories during fall league play, Javien showcased his ability to adapt quickly to varsity-level competition. His defensive tenacity allows him to guard multiple positions, and offensively, he led the team in both scoring and assists throughout the offseason.

With these six talented freshmen stepping onto the court, the Greenwave’s future looks bright. Their development and contributions this season could set the foundation for sustained success in the years ahead.
